“Knowing is not enough; we must apply. Willing is not enough; we must do.”
— Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, polymath
What is Self Intelligence?
Self Intelligence is made up of two parts; awareness and management. From awareness comes choice. The greater your self-awareness, the better choices you make in life. These choices then influence your awareness, so Self Intelligence is cyclic in nature.
“Know thyself”
— Inscription at the Temple of Delphi
Self Intelligence is also known by other names. Peter Senge, author of The Fifth Disciple calls it personal mastery. Howard Gardner, founder of the Multiple Intelligence theory calls it Intrapersonal Intelligence.
Why is Self Intelligence important?
All great philosophers, spiritual teachers and the smartest people to walk the face of the earth have basically said the same thing – the most important thing you can do is to know yourself better than you know yourself now. Understanding yourself better leads to you enjoying the associated fruits of success and achieving your desired level of fulfillment.
